Board of Directors | Claudia Grigorescu
Claudia Grigorescu was born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Miami in 1995 with a degree in Spanish and Psychology. Her academic endeavors continued at Georgetown University, where she completed her Master’s in the School of Foreign Service, Latin American Studies Program (Field: government) in 1998. She worked in D.C. within a non-profit organization, ASPIRA, as Program Manager in educational programs that provided services for various minority groups at the local and national level.
Currently, she is working towards a doctoral degree in Curriculum and Instruction (specializing in Modern Language Education/International & Intercultural Education) at the College of Education in Florida International University (FIU). She has taught the TESOL endorsement courses in FIU for 4 years, dedicated time to grant writing, research in her field, and still believes that laughter, love and faith are catalytic elements. Her present employment with Dr. Moses’ Algebra Project and the Center for Urban Education & Innovation at FIU, reminds her of why she is pursuing a career in education and educational advocacy. She truly enjoys working with and within her community with colleagues, friends, and families who do not wait for tomorrow.
As a graduate student who believes in community integration, educational opportunities, justice and holistic practices, Claudia is excited about joining the laudable efforts of Grace Foundation.
