by a learning process
Grace Foundation is leading a coordinated community effort to improve the literacy and educational levels of Nigerian kids. Our literacy imperative spans the entire life cycle starting at preschool and moving through tertiary education.
Our initiatives include:
Library
A resource library that will provide a welcoming and self-affirming learning environment for students, who are looking for a space to enhance their social, linguistic, cultural, and cognitive development.
Learning Center
Our after-school-learning center will provide a space that fosters youth development. Through emphasizing project-based experiential, interdisciplinary learning activities, the program will help youths develop their capacity to be: problem-solvers, creative and critical thinkers; excel in school and be civically minded. Grace Foundation empowers low-income youths, with the necessary opportunities, skills, and support needed by them to succeed in school and lead vibrant, fulfilling lives.
School-Community Partnership
This program will provide parents and guardians with the opportunity to become actively engaged in their children’s schools. This program also provides an opportunity for Secondary School students to go on guarded tours of Universities and Polytechnics in the Country, prior to applying to the schools- to familiarize themselves with the Higher education environment.
Adult Literacy Classes
These classes will provide an opportunity for adults to learn how to read and write. The overarching goal of our education programs is to offer developmental education and on-site job training opportunities that will create a gateway to higher education, self-sufficiency and higher wage jobs for people that traditionally have not had these opportunities.
